Truth Today For a Better Tomorrow

Thank you, Narayan.... thank you very much for writing

"Truth is relative to the point from where we look at it",

searching the Internet for quotes about truth on the internet, I was not satisfied with what I found.Your quote is one of the better quotes compared to all the others.

The problem in the world today is that the many differing vantage points for a truth causes conflicts, wasteful arguments, and even global wars between those who think their truth is the only right one unable or unwilling to see the other's point of view. Reconciling the different truths that each side holds true means yielding to the mutual truth agreeable for both, someone has to compromise or both have to compromise. Perhaps a new and better refined truth emerges in the reconciliation process with improved understanding resulting.

In America, we are "lied" to in so many subtle ways of deception (intentional fraudulent truths), half truths (partially correct), untold truths (not given necessary information), and it is becoming all too common to be told mutually contradictory truths by another, unaware of their own irrational state of mind and inability to communicate intelligently with valid, verifiable reasoning.

Cleaning up the messy consequences of dishonesty and incompetency is costly, but necessary. If truth can be told, it must be told. If there is a better truth, progress finds it.  Truths like time, expire.  What is true today, may not be true tomorrow. Let go of old truths and accept the new truths with all related changes.  Truths have limits of accuracy and if their valid domain enlarges or shrinks reevaluate their validity. Truths create sane social systems and destroys those not.

Truth reigns supreme. It surpasses corruption and confusion. Truth has value and integrity. Truth today is a better tomorrow.

Responsible Reproduction

I don't like to argue pro or con on abortions, if prevention or planning were more strongly emphasized and communicated there would be less unwanted pregnancies.

I think the focus should be on contraceptives and increased attention to stressing the socially responsible pregnancy... do not bring children into this world that you can not financially, emotionally, and in every way provide for their developmental needs... it is wrong to become pregnant expecting others to pay the price for your reproduction sexual activities.... responsible planning must be prerequisite to the conception, also prerequisite is having the necessary financial status before becoming pregnant.  That should be the message forcefully and socially communicated to women of child bearing ages, and then if still the woman becomes inadvertently, irresponsibly pregnant, she should give the baby up for adoption to someone who is mature, financially able, and capable of being good parents with a good home and stable family for the new baby. A baby deserves so much more than an unwed mother who can not financially provide for its care and development in life. If the mother truly wants the best for her baby, she must try to understand that she is not the best one to provide for the baby's future. A baby deserves a 2 parent home and family financially able to provide for its medical care, educational development, and social well being in life.

A Crippled Mind at Work

My bicycle accident left me with a crippled mind and a broken, painful body.  There was trauma from the near death accident being hit from behind by a van while I was riding my bicycle not far from my home.  Almost 25 years later, I am still recovering and rehabilitating, a crippled mind at work busily trying to repair itself DIY even as I write this narrative.

I have healed and repaired as much as I can mentally and physically, but friends and family still notice I am not as good as "new" or even as good as I once was (plus I am a quarter of century older now). I realize and accept my new mental and physical limitations having reconciled to living out my life compensating for those residual impairments of my mind and body as best I can.

We all have pretty much the same physical entry to life but differ greatly how we exit. Most like to have good memories of past times, live happily as possible in the present, and look forward to better-luck-the-next-time futures. A crippled mind at work is better than an empty mind or an idle, useless, maybe wasted one. A crippled mind has no crutches, it has to make the most of what it can do and with no excuses. A crippled mind is not a visible injury and others do not understand their own brain let alone mine. A crippled mind is challenged to be better than yesterday, best for today, and advance further tomorrow. Most consider a crippled mind the worse fate imaginable, but it is not. A crippled mind has had to cope with its faults, deficiencies, and inadequacies and as a consequence is more considerate of those in others. It is not the fact that my mind is crippled, imperfect, and challenged, but the fact that I am a mind at work, living in harmony with my friends and family, my community and most importantly by my self and the graciousness of God and government.

**********************************************************************************************
Being reduced to mere vegetable waste and recovering as much as you can of your former self is an enlightening process ..... you can imagine... as to being stronger, I doubt that since I could have advanced from where I was before the accident to be much further along than where I presently am ..... the accident was a professionally, financially, emotionally, mentally and physically crippling event and required reserves to recover, I doubt that full recovery is possible .... but perhaps I have other potentials I would not have had if the accident had not happened.

I was motivated in part to write the above narrative to close the whole accident, but that might be impossible now that I have in written record and in conscious explicit fact rather than concealed in emotional muck. I also wrote it to perhaps convince myself, if not others, that mental heath is a relative attainment to one’s individual normalcy, at best, and that everyone can and should improve their own state of mind and all would benefit thereby. Mental health is no different than any physical health issue, just more misunderstood and frightening.

To what extent the soul is injured or improved by life’s mishaps, misfortunes, and mistakes remains to be discovered. It is not something that can be removed or examined easily by self or others. They do say a person learns more from their mistakes than their successes and perhaps that is also true spiritually. To what extent a sin, mistake, and error in choice are the same is questionable, but to correct either one and learn from the experience is developmental. In a school environment we are given a safe learning surroundings, but in real life there is no safety net for sense and sanity that might suffer as a consequence.

Truth of the Matter

Perhaps simpler calculations do exist about something falsely perceived/stated as compared to the truth of its reality ..... man's truths are always subject to change with new enlightenment and research continually creating better and more refined truths and better methodology.

I think it would be safe to say a a truth and a system of truths is self validating not only internally consistent but externally as well until a larger system outside containing it or smaller system inside it challenges its accuracy to accommodate the enlarged systems intersystem consistency and interdependencies. Sometimes the truth is so plain and obvious, you overlook it and make it more difficult to find... looking everywhere it is not. You may think something is true but when in a larger context of truths or a more microscopic view (the zoom concept) you discover it is not true and a better truth evolves...true for the micro and macrocosm zooms .... so God is absolute Truth and Perfection, and man made truths are more variable subject to change.... constants are discovered to be variables and variables become constants via controls devised to study them.

One can tell someone, "the moon is made of cheese" .... true that is simple and plain but also not correct, and if challenged is very difficult to explain because of its obvious absurdities originating from fantasy rather than fact; It is neither internally consistent or externally verifiable. It is also a figment of someone beguiling (intentionally misinforming) another, perhaps an innocent child, while withholding the simple truth that "the moon is a natural satellite in orbit around our earth." can be substantiated easily and is verifiable mathematically and scientifically, however it does require knowing “natural”, “satellite”, “orbit”, and “earth” as prerequisites so I think I understand why someone believes what they said is true ... even though we know it is not.

People who lie sometimes believe their lies to be truths and refuse to acknowledge their falseness sometimes simply because of “faith”, emotional consequences, or having to revise everything else in their lives related to that falsehood. So the criminal justice system uses the word intent .... did someone knowingly, intentionally do such and such (lie or whatever).... I know someone would not break the commandment “Thou shalt not lie” but sometimes there is no alternative or it is not permissible to be truthful to oneself or others.

Reality is sometimes incompatible with future life as we know it and might shatter a person’s life in the present time. My husband once told me “I love you too much to tell you....” Our humanity and love for one another prevents us from being totally truthful at all times, and I believe God allows for this with his infinite wisdom and forethought. If truth can be told, it should be. That is what I believe the commandment tells us.

Ecclesiastes 3:17 I thought in my heart,
"God will bring to judgment
both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be
a time for every activity,
a time for every deed."

In telling a truth, the unlearned hear your lie.... In telling a lie, the unlearned hear their truth. (Yolanda Martin)

History is filled with consequences, but too little truth. (Yolanda Martin)

Making the Right Choices in Life

Crime is the result of wrong choices. The Criminal Justice System prosecutes criminals, but .....

Defamation is a word that describes a viciously cruel weapon that exists in a low life adversary's arsenal ..... defamation of character ....For example: it is illegal in America to  abuse another, but so hard to prosecute the perpetrator who has used the criminal justice system criminally to severely injure another, and the damage done is irreparable.

Simply falsely accusing another of a minor offense (nonexistent), easily causing them to be arrested, and tried in an over burdened court of laws (courts and judges sometimes worthy only of contempt) with paid witnesses perjuring testimony sufficient to cause the targeted victim an unjust conviction, and in doing so creating enormous time and cost for the necessary defense against the liar by the defamed defendant, resulting in defamation of character of the falsely accused, ruining reputation and credibility socially, professionally, and creating damages to the extended family is a modern day insidious, noxious mortal sin offense not unlike what happened to Jesus in ancient history.  People and their sins and problems persist.  Crime persists.  Blasphemy exists.  Shit Happens! Wars waste wantonly and the victor lacks value, valor, and virtue.

Perhaps powers on earth that are creating the future are going to provide only a computer interactive menu with allowable correct choices to choose so that it is impossible to make the wrong choice. Already this is happening in business web site interfaces. Do you know how frustrating it is interacting with computer interfaces that collects info before allowing you to continue and in the list of options, the one you need to have is not present?  You can not continue.  They do not want to allow that to happen. They also do not provide any way to give them feedback of the inadequacy of their list of choices? If God had not provided something that was forbidden, then there would never have been the original sin.... ??? Failsafe. Will the future ensure that there is no possible way a person can make the wrong choice in any of their thoughts or deeds? Perhaps individual originality will be the new original sin?

The Spiritual Soul

Definitions, language, and beliefs change in history as do the people who give rise to them. People revise their philosophies as they mature, refining their spiritual soul as a natural consequence of life's whetting stones, forming a more perfect tool as needed for their quest beyond mortality's physical limitations.

and in the words of St. Francis .... Lord, make me an instrument of your peace ...

We open our lives so that God can enter, becoming one in life, melding our consciousness and soul spiritually beyond death’s mortal physicality.

A friend sent me the following poem which I liked .. it is a reminder to not become too self absorbed ....

ILLUSION

GOD and I in space alone,

And nobody else in view;

“And where are the people, O Lord?” I asked,

“The earth beneath and the sky o’er head,

And the dead whom I once knew?”

“That was a dream,” God smiled and said,

“A dream that has ceased to be true.

There were no people, living or dead,

No earth beneath and no sky o’er head,

There was only Myself ... and you.”

“And why do I feel no fear?” I said,

“Meeting you here this way?

For I have sinned, I know full well;

And is there heaven and is there hell,

And is this the judgment day?”

“Nay, those were but dreams,” the Great God said,

“Dreams that have ceased to be.

There are no such things as fear and sin,

And you, yourself ... you have never been,

There is NOTHING AT ALL, but ME.”

High IQ (Intelligence?)

Having a high IQ does not mean the person has competent use of their cognitive faculties.  A high IQ measurement does not mean that the person has developed their potential for intellectual achievement and mastery. A high IQ says nothing about the person's moral, ethical, civility or social performance.    A high IQ only implies and asserts that the person would not be limited by their alleged superior innate intelligence as much as others with IQ measurements lesser, the more normal IQ persons.

Having an advanced education degree does not mean the person will perform well in their chosen field. It is only evidence that the person has been taught, tested on the material, training, and provided experience via exercises needed to perform well in their chosen field.

Having an aptitude, altitude, and attitude also does not mean the person will apply their self in future life endeavors to achieve, be productive and successful.

A person can have everything and be nothing.  To be a special some one, for your own self esteem and value to others, it is important and most meaningful for a person to have motivation, inspiration, and desire to achieve their goals .... to not let difficult challenges discourage them, and if they fail, to not give up.

The person must work.

Work is a very multi-faceted concept .... and I am using it in the broadest since of the word ....means much more than being employed, either self employed or having an employer.... I am using it in the sense of
“Does your computer work?” ..... or when you get something, does it work? .... meaning providing and doing what it is supposed to be doing in a positive way?

After working for so many years of my life, when I was disabled in my bicycle accident 1986, November, I felt disgraced, broken, and thought I would be better off dead. I did not want to burden others with my many problems and injuries. Others thought the same thing about me and even said so, increasing my humiliation and sense of incapacitating impoverishment of mind, body, and personhood.

Healing (rehabilitation) is work ... I have been a long time healing and am still rehabilitating. I realize that I can not work as I did before the accident, but now I do feel that I work (I have healed and rehabilitated my self concept, my life plans, and my usefulness to others). I am self sufficient, have income, pay taxes, contribute to my community, reciprocate in friendships, participate actively in social organizations, and developmentally learning (adapting in a healthy manner, making progress productively in my life and personal goals).

True, I am receiving Social Security benefits at taxpayer’s expense, but that was an insurance plan that I paid into during my career years to provide for the contingency that I might be disabled in life. I am disabled.... not dead. My philosophy is to live within my means in all sense of the phrase, invest wisely my time and life’s resources, and experience the joy and happiness that fulfills and enriches the body, mind, and soul personally.

Can I justify my being alive at this point?

Or ... simply expressed ..... provide justifications for not being snuffed out because of lack of oxygen that others need to breathe also? or life boat ethics, reason for not throwing you out to the sharks to feed so there will be more for the survivors? or the ignorance expressed by some thinking you are “freeloading” at their expense.... or leaving you to vegetate in an institution not wanting to spend resources to heal and restore what can be restored?

Touches upon the value of life .... the extreme measures our medical teams make to save a life at all costs after serious evaluation of death versus life pros and cons .... and yet we send our best young men off to war to be slaughtered and for what? Our way of life!! My Way, my parti-colored Pekingese puppy is teaching me so much.... she and Lovesong and my other Pekingese and Koi/goldfish ....

Ethically, if a life can be saved, by Hippocratic oath which states “do no harm”, we must let nature do the healing, if there is not money to pay the doctors and hospitals for supra life saving measures? Our economy is bankrupt our congressman and government leaders say, so in the future some severe changes to our way of life will have to be made. Bio ethics is very sensitive and especially to those who might not have a seat in the life boat. What will be the criteria used for who receives limited resources?

Debt denial by our government is similar to death denial ..... not dealing with reality ...that is not the definition of good mental health and sanity by anyone who has sound mind and good judgment.

“I’ll deal with it when the time comes” ... and then never do until there is no time left.,,???

Getting back our economy begins with each citizen today improving their own personal financial management.

Collectively in our State and Federal 2 party governments, the problem is the Republicans realize they have means and do not want to lose any, and the Democrats represent those who do not have means for financial management and understand social responsibilities .... it is hard to manage a budget without income, marketable goods or services, and with so many needy children, elderly, sick, and disabled and increasing the debt denying the consequences was one way out by borrowing from the future.

Despite the differences, bi-partisan support will have to deal with solving the fiscal crisis. Every citizen is socially obliged to make the necessary economic changes in their lives. Where there is life there must be financial accounting and responsibility for sustaining it. Perhaps, greater thought will be made before bringing in new lives to our world where there is not the ability to provide for the costs of that life.... Perhaps, greater thought will be made before expenditures create greater debt rather than investing and producing greater yields... Perhaps, greater thought will be given toward working for peaceful, constructive solutions instead of the ever increasing costs of fighting foreign wars that are more offensive than defensive. Perhaps there will be less waste and corruption in our world if individually we reduce our own waste, corruption of thought and deeds, and criminal activities..... Just maybe we will regain our financial independence and not at the expense and endangerment of other people in the world. Perhaps????
